Big heart, not Narendra Modi’s ’56-inch chest’ needed to run India: Priyanka Gandhi

Gorakhpur: In a way to woo voters for Congress, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday addressed a public meeting in Gorakhpur.

Priyanka, who is now at the helm of Congress’ poll campaigns, took potshots at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

While taking a dig at Modi, she said that the country doesn’t need 56-inch chest, but a big heart.

She also said that to govern the country ‘morality’ is needed and not a cruel heart.

Modi had said during the Gorakhpur rally that it would take a “56-inch chest” to convert UP into Gujarat.

Priyanka further added that it is the people of all religions who sacrificed their lives for freedom.

She had yesterday defended her brother and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Amethi against BJP leader Smriti Irani’s comment.

Smriti had questioned the number of visits by Rahul in Amethi in the last 10 years.

Retaliating to this, Priyanka said that Rahul had visited 70 times and spent at least 140 days in Amethi.

She also said that those fighting against Rahul are not interested in the truth or in development.

“The people fighting against Rahul are not bothered about the development. They don’t love you and are here to just defeat him. They claim on TV that there has been no development in Amethi. That is all right, but do they know the reason behind all this?” she asked.
